The challenge
A global consumer brand selling into more than 70 markets needed product, marketing and launch content in many languages. Translation and localisation were a significant, recurring cost, and every new market or product added to it.
What I did
I led the implementation of a translation management platform, alongside running the brand’s global translation and localisation projects.
- AI-first workflow. Content moves through AI translation into 14 languages, with people reviewing and refining rather than translating from scratch.
- Marketplace matching. Where specialist human translation is needed, the platform matches the work to a global marketplace of translators.
- One system. Translation requests, review and delivery run through a single platform instead of separate agencies and inboxes.
The outcome
Total savings of around US$1M a year, with faster turnaround for new markets and launches.
Why it matters for your business
This is what practical AI looks like in a mid-market company: a specific, expensive process, redesigned around what AI does well, with people kept in the loop where quality matters. It pays for itself in the first year rather than staying a pilot.
