How the AI readiness score works

The scorecard asks 10 questions, two in each of five areas: strategy, data, process, people and governance. Each answer scores from 0 to 3, so each area scores out of 6 and the total is out of 30.

  • 0–10, Exploring: the opportunity is real, but the foundations come first: a clear view of where AI adds value, usable data and an accountable owner.
  • 11–17, Emerging: interest and some activity, not yet connected to outcomes.
  • 18–24, Scaling: working foundations; the next step is a repeatable way to find, fund and run AI initiatives.
  • 25–30, Leading: AI is part of how you operate; keep raising the bar on measurement and governance.
